Jack Jap Snacks - a Snoopy Valentine!

So it's the first Jack Snacks post I've done in what feels like forever (not far off I guess!) so I thought I'd choose something interesting. It's been a few months since the snack was consumed but I wanted to share it anyway.

As you may know, Valentines day in Japan is a day where the men receive gifts - usually chocolate. The ladies don't get the gifts until a month later on March 14 called "White Day". Lucky for me, Jess happened to be in Tokyo around Valentines day this year and brought me back some Valentines-edition Snoopy chocolates from Grand Four. There are so many different styles around at this time, I'd love to go see them for myself one day!

Though the flavours were a little on the sweet side for my usual taste they were very nice chocolates indeed. And the packaging! Japanese packaging tends to be excessive but in this case you can't help but love how cute it is! Who wouldn't be won over by a valentine's gift like this?

For me? Why you shouldn't have!

Ok maybe you should have :)

Hello Snoopy and Belle.... almost too cute to eat, almost.

Jack Snacks!... Nabisco Picola Uji Maccha Biscuits

Ever since I tried the tasty green tea Oreo Sticks, I've been on the lookout for them but sadly haven't seen any.... But! The same company that made them (Nabisco) also have a similar range called Picola which come in flavours uji maccha (green tea), strawberry and chocolate.

No doubt I had to buy the green tea to try and I have to say I actually liked these better than the Oreo Sticks! There are 2 packs inside the box, each containing 6 sticks. The wafer biscuit is crispy and light but being a 'plain' flavour the wafer component isn't as strong as the Oreo Sticks were. This allows the uji maccha flavour to come through reeeeal nicely which is great cause it's reeeeal good. Definitely one for the green tea fans out there, I've currently got 3 packs in my possession!

picola.. yum...
So yum it deserves an extra photo!

What: Nabisco Picola Uji Maccha Biscuits
Where: You can get this at various asian supermarkets that stock Japanese snacks, I've seen them at Maruyu, Thai Kee, Miracle, CitiSuper and Tokyo Super
How much: From $3.99 (at Maruyu and Tokyo Super), around the $4.50 mark at the other shops.

Jack (Euro) Snacks!... Ladurée

Yeah.. it's been ages since the Europe trip and I've still got loads of photos which haven't been posted! But recent news that Ladurée will be opening at Sydney Westfield reminded me of our visit to the Champs Elysées store in Paris. I _will_ get around to posting the other Europe photos but it doesn't hurt to make a start with  Ladurée.

Travelling with a large group of relos spanning 3 generations meant that anything but a quick visit was out of the question. The shop and tearoom are very popular, the shop is sooo crowded. Crowd aside, the place is picture perfect - the building and tearoom, window displays, the uniforms worn by the staff and the gorgeous cakes. But what most people are here for are of course the macarons. And why not? Macarons in their current double decker form were invented by Ladurée and they are considered one of the best around.

Looks crowded even from out here...

Tiny door, big crowd inside! Pretty window display and first glimpse of inside from the end of the queue.

We had to line up of course and so I took some snaps as we moved along in the queue until we were told "no photos!" - in my defence there didn't seem to be a sign saying so and I hadn't spotted any staff member free enough to ask beforehand heehee. It's been so long so I have no idea what the prices were - let's just say you wouldn't call them 'cheap', but they weren't so expensive that I felt it necessary to remember the number. We got a box with various flavours which included caramel with salted butter, chocolate, pistachio, green apple, raspberry, orange blossom, lemon, blackcurrant violet and rose.

Pretty cakes and macarons.. look at that cute strawberry cake in the middle shot, I wish I'd bought one!

And how were they? The family convened in one of our hotel rooms and scoffed them! They are indeed good - delicate and light with a lovely filling. I especially liked the rose, the flavour was just right. But I regret not getting one of the little cakes shaped like a strawberry which looked super cute. Maybe they'll have them at the Sydney store... I'll definitely be interested to see if that's the case!

Ooh.. they almost look too pretty to eat!

But the family digs in and they disappear quickly, rose (center) is easily my favourite!

What: Ladurée
Where: 75 avenue des Champs Elysées, Paris
How much: Can't remember sorry... not 'cheap' but affordable for a treat.

Jack Snacks!... N2 Extreme Gelato

Gelato made with liquid nitrogen! When Hey Hey House closed down at Number One Dixon I was hoping something good would open up in it's place.

The glass doors had been covered in printouts of chemical symbols and a definition for Nitrogen - hint hint!

Nitrogen coming...

So it finally opened last night (Friday) and there were lots of people watching with interest as their gelato was made with liquid nitrogen. I hadn't even had dinner yet but I was totally keen to have a taste so decided to try their Earl Grey Burnt Caramel but it was sold out so I went with a chocolate instead (I know, bo-ring). It was a good chocolate gelato though, on the dark side so not too sweet which is good. And the texture is thick and smooth. I like!

Is that a crowd?

Yep.. that's a crowd!

Ooh... now this looks like fun!
Liquid nitrogen gelato in chocolate flavour.. gone almost as quick as it took to make...
Check out the super frosty liquid nitrogen jug and those cool science lab gelato mix bottles... I wanna play!

There's nitro shakes which I'll have to try after I've tried some more of their flavours - this place is fun and different and oh so dangerously close to work so there's no doubt I'll be back next week for a gelato fix!

What: N2 Extreme Gelato
Where: 43/1 Dixon St Sydney
How much: Prices start with one scoop for $6

Jack Snacks!... Oreo Sticks (Green Tea flavour)

I bought these Green Tea Oreo Sticks a while ago but I had been saving them. Oh man.... now that I have finally eaten them, I wish I'd done so earlier cause I would have gone to the shops and bought the whole rack! But currently there's only the vanilla flavour available.

There's 3 packs inside, each containing 3 sticks. When you open the wrapper you can smell the green tea... mmm! It's crispy and not too sweet with a very nice green tea flavour - I really, really like them and am on the lookout in the hopes that there'll be more imported soon. I suppose I could try the vanilla flavour in the meantime but it just won't be as satisfying as green tea!

These Green Tea Oreo Sticks are the bomb!

What: Oreo Sticks (Green Tea flavour)
Where: At various asian shops, although lately I've only seen the vanilla flavour.
How much: I bought mine for $3.50 at Miracle Supermarket at World Square

Jack Snacks!... Lava Bun at Din Tai Fung

If you've ever read my previous post on Din Tai Fung, you will know I really like the food there. Last Thursday night after having Korean for dinner, my tummy wanted dessert so it was off to Din Tai Fung. There was a poster proclaiming "Lava Bun" and so I had to try one (just one, cause one needs to save room for the tasty Golden Taro Bread with taro ice-cream).

It's daintily sized and contains a runny golden lava which I think is a salted egg custard, the saltiness coming from what tastes like salted duck egg yolk. It's definitely different and I can see myself trying this again, though I think I'd really like it if it was a bit sweeter. Luckily I had the golden taro bread and icecream to take care of that!

The oozy Lava Bun. Thank you to my hand model!
What: Lava Bun at Din Tai Fung
Where: 644 George St, Sydney 2000
How much: Around $2/$2.20 for 1 or $6.00 for 3 (sorry, I forgot to write it down and can't remember exactly!)

Jack Snacks!... La Roulade cakes

Two posts in one day - it's almost too much considering how busy things have been. But! I was walking through the cbd after work on thursday when 2 things in QVB caught my eye. First is that one of my favourite shops is opening in February, yay! Nearby was the second - recently opened La Roulade cake shop.

It's a tiny little space with just enough room for a little service counter and a glass display holding the cakes. The description says that each Roulade "is a rich blend of Belgian chocolate mousse, rolled in a delicate sponge, enrobed with  a silky chocolate ganash". They looked cute and the chocolate tempting. Furthermore there's currently an opening special which convinced me (details below).

So I took home a Raspberry and Black Forest to try. The chocolate ganache is silky indeed with a flavour. The Raspberry was a little too sweet and could do with a stronger berry taste. The Black Forest was better balanced with a tartness from the cherries that are mandatory to realise the cake's name. Next time I'm likely to steer away from the sweet flavours and try mango or lemon.

La Roulade - thankfully not another cupcake place...

Raspberry on the left, Black Forest on the right.

What: La Roulade
Where: Shop 11 Lower Ground Floor, 455 George St, Sydney
How much: $4.50 for 1, $8.50 for 2, $16.50 for 4 or $24.00 for 6. Opening specials apply if buying more than 1 piece - $6.75 for 2, $12.75 for 4 and $19.50 for 6.

Jack Snacks!... Meiji Rich Maccha Chocolate

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a couple of months since I got back from Japan (and many posts still be written up, must work on it, must work on it...) but I'm still suffering from post-Japan blues. So it's no surprise that I've been stalking all things Japanese, not least the Japanese snack sections of Japanese/asian supermarkets.

And oooooh how good is Meiji Rich Maccha Chocolate! I've eaten this range many months before, but it's been a while since I saw the Maccha flavour on shelves. So, does it pass the awesome-Japanese-green-tea-snack test? The packaging is cute and pretty, though somewhat environmentally unfriendly. And the taste? Oh so good, soooo good. I caught a whiff of maccha when I opened the wrapper. Promising. The chocolate starts to melt as soon as you hold it. It's totally creamy and the maccha taste is indeed rich. It passes the test with flying colours as I start reminiscing again. Oh Japan... how I miss you!

Now this is a pack-a-day habit I'd willingly take up..

It looks the same as the photo on the box! How often does that happen aye..

What: Meiji Rich Maccha Chocolate
Where: I got this at asian supermarket Citi Super, it's likely to be at other asian shops
How much: $4.65 for six little sticks

Jack Snacks!... Mango Glutinous Dumplings

It's already the middle of summer and I had nearly forgotten about the tasty Mango Glutinous Dumplings from Sweeties Paradise. From memory I think last year's ones were slightly better but I still gobbled these down with much glee. Biting through the dessicated coconut and glutinous dumpling yields a fresh piece of mango - yum!

Mango is the wonderful taste of summer!

What: Mango Glutinous Dumplings
Where: Sweeties Paradise, 45 Dixon Street, Haymarket
How much: $5 for 3

Jack Jap-Snacks!... Royce' Nama Chocolate

Last year a friend brought back some Royce' Nama Chocolate from Singapore, Maccha flavour no less, so it goes without saying I liked it very much! I made a mental note to get some when I was in Japan but, as anyone who's ever been there would agree, when you're actually in Japan there are just sooooo many different things to eat that you're constantly distracted with something new.

So it wasn't until we were at Narita airport on the day of our departure that I managed to buy some Nama Chocolate. It's made with fresh Hokkaido-milk cream which makes it super soft, creamy and rich. There are various flavours, both alcohol based and non-alcohol based. But I couldn't go past the maccha which is both strong in fragrance and taste.

With it's high cream content refrigeration is necessary - naturally the Japanese have this sorted with thermal cooler bags for an additional cost. They put the chocolates in the bag and then place a little cooling pack inside which preserves the precious cargo.

Stay-cool packaging to protect the chocolate.

Yum! I highly recommend trying it because it tastes great. Even my mum (who doesn't eat chocolate) liked it and ate several pieces in one sitting!

It's appearance is a little worse for wear after 2 flights but the creamy texture and maccha taste are unaffected - oishii!

What: Royce' Nama Chocolate (Maccha flavour)
Where: Buy it in Japan (I got mine at the airport complete with cooling bag). Their international outlets are listed here
How much: Nama Chocolate cost 660yen (containing 20 pieces), it cost me an extra 100 yen to get the thermal cooler pack

Jack Snacks!... Mokomoko Mug Cake

What do you do when you've got a craving for cake but you don't want to spend a couple of hours beating, mixing, baking? Why of course the answer is simple - Mokomoko Mug Cake!

It costs around $3.50 for a box containing 2 packets of mug cake mix. The instructions on the back are in Japanese but the steps are so simple that I (think I) can make it out with with my limited Japanese.

Mokomoko Mug Cake - cute instructions but alas - only in Japanese!
All you have to do is get a mug, and in there combine the contents of one packet of cake mix with one egg. Once it's combined, microwave for for a couple of minutes (1.5min for a 600 watt microwave or 2min for a 500 watt microwave, do not wrap the mug or cover it). And ta-da!! Your very own mug cake.

It's not too bad for a microwave packet cake - soft and fluffy and not too dry. But don't fool yourselves, it's still a pretty basic cake and obviously not a true replacement for homebaked goodies or something from a nice cake shop. It's still good to keep in the pantry for those late night cake-mergencies (not to mention the high novelty factor!). It comes in 2 flavours - vanilla or moccha (there's also caramel but I've only ever seen that overseas). And the back of the box suggests adding banana which I think is a great combination and decided to try, yum!

Mug. Packet mix. Egg. Optional banana. Yep, that's all you need!

Mix, mix, mix.. when it's done, plop some chopped up banana in.

It's fun watching it puff up in the microwave, when it's done.. poof! It's deflated back down.

Ta-da!!! Mug cake with banana!
What happens if you decide to break the rules and turn mug-cake into bowl-cake? I sacrificed the last of my Lindt chocolate bunnies to make a choc-banana bowl-cake and decided to use a bowl out of curiousity. It was a little tougher, the larger surface area naturally makes the cake cook faster so in future I think I'll stick with the mug! Chocolate on the other hand, I'll add again next time!

Bowl-cake - not quite the same as mug cake, even with a sacrificed Lindt bunny. Stick to the mug kids, stick to the mug.

What: Mokomoko Mug Cake
Where: Most Japanese supermarkets (Maruyu, Conveni 8) and quite a few asian supermarkets (Miracle, Thai Kee etc)
How much: Around the $3.50 mark

Jack Snacks!... Pataks ready to eat Mini Pappadums

It's been one of those weeks - the bad kind! But it's the little things that can make it all better. In this case, it's the joy of stumbling across something that you've eaten overseas that cannot be found back at home (Sydney in my case). Oh the excitement!

Jess introduced me to pre-cooked mini pappadums the first time I visited her in the UK. They sold them in the "crisps" section of Waitrose and she was quite excited when she gave me some to try as she knew I'd like them just as much as she does. I mean, who doesn't like pappadums? And who wouldn't mind having a bag in the cupboard, ready whenever you've got a pappadum craving? Yum, I'm going to be eating lots more!

So I was checking out the 7-Eleven near my office and saw the "Pataks ready to eat mini pappadums" and my eyes nearly popped out of my head. So I rushed straight to Coles (hehe yes, for the cost saving) to buy a packet. There's plain and there's also an assorted flavours option which has a mix of plain, black peper and mildly spiced. The 2 flavours are distinct and really good matches for the pappadums.

Thanks Jess for introducing me to these in the UK. And thanks Pataks for making my mini pappadum dreams come true here in Sydney!

What: Pataks ready to eat mini pappadums. Comes in plain or assorted (plain, black pepper, mildly spiced)
Where: Get it in the curry section of the supermarket, along with all the other Pataks products
How much: I paid $3.99 for a pack at Coles Express (75gm)

Jack Snacks!... Shiroi Fuusen

I don't often buy rice crackers but when I saw these I was intrigued! White as snow, they didn't look like the usual kind - and the description on the packet included the words 'chocolate cream' - oooh! A sweet rice cracker? Must try!

That is one white cracker.

The first bite is strange, the rice cracker is super light and there's no real flavour and it's very plain. The small smear of chocolate cream is good as it gives the taste some definition. Once I finished it, I ate another one straight away. Partly cause I wanted to put my finger on the oddity of the plain cracker, but mostly cause it was tasty!

Plain rice cracker is weird but wonderful.

What: Shiroi Fuusen rice crackers (available with milk cream or chocolate cream flavour)
Where: I got mine from Miracle supermarket World Square, but later saw it at Maruyu as well
How much: $5.45 at Miracle, $4.97 at Maruyu (d'oh! I could have saved 48c!)

Jack Snacks!... Bon Bon Fine Chocolate - update!

The chocolate cherries I got from Bon Bon Fine Chocolate are nearly finished. I felt like a(nother) treat so I went back and got the Slow Roasted Almonds in 70% Cocoa ($8.90 for 149gm). Yum - they are soooo good, the dusting of cocoa powder gives that little bit of cocoa-bitterness which I love!

But that's not the main point of this post - when I first went there, the pamphlet had read "Bon Bon Fine Chocolate Cafe" and I thought maybe there was going to be a cafe downstairs. But the stairs were roped off and both visits I had made to the store didn't hint at any such cafe. But! When I went there today, the rope across the stairs had a sign saying that a cafe is opening soon so I can't wait to check it out! Stay tuned...

This box is not going to last very long, just too dang delicious!

What: Slow Roasted Almonds in 70% Cocoa

Jack Snacks!... Pacari Dark Chocolate Covered Cacao Nibs

My penchant for little packets of food (cute and fits in your bag for anytime snacking) combined with my love of dark chocolate meant that I was not going to be able to leave the shop without this little package. It's Pacari Dark Chocolate Covered Cacao Nibs. The chocolate covered nibs are tiny but full of chocolate flavour and so, so delicious. The cacao nibs give it an intense cocoa taste. They are totally addictive and I just couldn't stop eating them! I had to put them back in my bag so that I would forget about them but not before scoffing half the box. I ate the other half the next day - oops.

They also have Chocolate Covered Golden Berries which are addictive as well. The berry pieces are small, they're not too much bigger than the cacao nibs, so they don't dominate the chocolate flavour but instead act as a fruity complement. I, err, also scoffed these down and didn't even manage to take a photo of them. I'll have to try dried banana too and check out their bars cause the chocolate is so tasty. It's also organic, single-origin and made in Ecuador according to fair and equitable standards (according to their website). What's not to like? Mmm chocolate...

This could easily become my pack-a-day habit.

What: Pacari Dark Chocolate Covered Cacao Nibs - check out all their products here
Where: I got mine at Norton St Grocer, Bondi Junction Westfield
How much: $5.99 for an itty bitty box of deliciousness

Jack Snacks!... Bon Bon Fine Chocolate at The Strand Arcade

Ooh ooh! A new chocolate shop!

That was my reaction when I came across the new "branch" of the Bon Bon Fine Chocolate shop which has just opened at The Strand Arcade. It's a lot bigger than their original QVB shop, which is a tiny hole-in-the-wall that most peole know or have walked past at some point. I immediately went inside to have a look - it's got a nice chocolate shop meets library/study feel. There's shades of brown, browny-orange and cream to match the chocolate mood. The library theme is defined with old-fashioned looking books and globes on the shelves and old-fashioned looking map frescos on the wall. All under the chandeliers which hang from the ceiling, giving the room a sparkly brightness.

Mmm chocolate...

But more interesting to me are the endless packages which are neatly displayed - chocolate-covered coffee beans, fruit (muscatels, currants, sundried montmorency cherries), coconut rough and different kinds of nuts (including macadamias, pistachios, almonds). There's also a few flavours of nougat and chocolate in various forms such as thin discs, pretzel shapes and a good old plain block of chocolate. The 'fancy' chocolates are available in pre-packed gift boxes or you can select your own from the glass display at the counter - there's plenty to choose from and I've already worked out which ones I'm interested in trying!

...and more chocolate...

Bon Bon's chocolates are made using French and Belgian chocolate so it's good stuff. The abundance of small packets are the perfect trap for the CBD worker looking for a snack or as a gift. On my first visit I tasted a couple of samples and knew I would be back. So there I was the next day purchasing a packet of the Sundried Montmorency Cherries in 60% Dark Chocolate ($9.50 for 150gm). They're ugly little knobs with a dusting of cocoa powder and totally irresistable - the dark chocolate is rich and the dried cherries are soft. It's a little on the sweet side but so delicious, for me it was perfect with some hot green tea as an after dinner treat.

The only bad thing about this fabulous new shop? The risk that my whole paycheck is going to be spent here!

What: Sundried Montmorency Cherries in 60% Dark Chocolate
Where: Bon Bon Fine Chocolate - Shop 33, Ground Floor, The Strand Arcade, Sydney (02) 9232 2992
How much: The cherries were $9.50 for 150gm, prices vary for the other items

Jack Snacks!... Nobby's Pork Crackle

Mmm chicken skin. Or duck skin. Or pork crackling. I like them all. And that's probably why I like Nobby's Pork Crackle. I used to see it in 7-Eleven stores but nowadays the only place where I've seen it is at Thai Kee supermarket in Market City. It's only a small packet which is a good thing, cause I really don't trust myself with bigger packs that can be found in other shops (it IS tempting though).

The Nobby's one is nice too - it's light, crispy and super scoffable. Not too salty and I think it has a little bit of vinegar to give it some tang. In short, my kind of snack!

One of these days I'm going to give in and get one of those big packets and then I'll be in trouble!

What: Nobby's Pork Crackle
Where: Thai Kee Supermarket at Market City - there must be other stockists somewhere...
How much: $1.60

Jack UK Snacks!... Aero bubbly Lamb

I'm usually a saver. I always save the best bit of food for last. If I get some fancy chocolates I'll save them for a special occassion or eat them when I need a pick me up. But there are times when this 'strategy' backfires.

For example - Jess went on her first European holiday to Italy back in 2002. I was in serious envy as I was still an impoverished student at the time. Luckily there were spoils to be had when she came home - including Fonzies (the Italian version of Twisties) and some Italian chocolate bars called Tronky and Duplo. Yum!

I saved the last Tronky bar but alas I saved it a little too long. It expired in April 2003 but I didn't eat it until April 2004. Chocolate expired by a year? No sweat for me usually. But this Tronky bar has wafer in it and, well.. let's just say stale wafers have never been tasty.

So now that I am back from my recent trip, I am going to try and eat all my goodies early, instead of letting them go out of date. What's the first snack from overseas? It's a cute Aero chocolate. Ok, nothing special about Aero cause we have them here, but this one is a cute lamb that Jess bought me! I was a little worried it might have got squashed in my luggage despite being careful but luckily it was still in perfectly cute condition. Taste wise, well it's just an Aero chocolate, but it's so cute I wanted to post up a photo of it for everyone to see.

Yes I still have the wrappers. It's not "hoarding", it's called "sentimental".

How cute is that!

What: Aero bubbly Lamb
Where: Somewhere in the UK?
How much: Not sure... that's the best thing about treats from Jess, I don't have to worry about the price - thanks sis!

Jack Snacks!... Premium Taro Jelly Roll and Honey Cake

One thing I quite like about 85°C bakery is that every so often they have something new to try. On a recent visit I saw two new items that looked interesting - mmm new cakes!

The first was Premium Taro Jelly Roll ($6.95). The taro flavour is light and the 'jelly' has a bit of squidginess without being too gelatinous to overpower the cake. The cake has a nice fine texture. I quite liked it and it makes for a nice snack.

The Honey Cake is described as "Soft and tender cake with rich honey, irresistible taste everyone like." and costs $2.40. I can't speak for "everyone" but I did indeed like it. Like the taro one, it too has a fine texture. It's somewhat sweeter and has a recognisable honey flavour - I think it would go nice with some hot green tea. I'll have to try remember that for next time as I gobbled it up pretty quickly.

At $6.95 it sure is premium!

Honey cake - everything tastes good with honey.

What: Premium Taro Jelly Roll and Honey Cake

How much: Premium Taro Jelly Roll was $6.95 and Honey Cake $2.40

Jack Snacks!... hontou pancakes

I am back from holidays! It was altogether too short and there were some interesting moments. All in all I had a great time! There'll be posts from the trip but all in good time - gotta get over this jetlag first... zzZZz

Well as you all know I've been frequenting Teamo for their tasty teas, but there's also another interesting eat next to the Citisuper. It's Citisuper Deli by hontou. Including hontou pancakes which I've been enjoying for years. Back in the day they occupied a spot in a shop on Sussex Street in Chinatown along with my favourite takoyaki in Sydney (Colotako). I always had a dilemma choosing which to eat and usually ended up with both. You'll usually find both at markets such as the Chinatown night markets. But anyway, I digress. What I am trying to say is that they have a permanent spot at Citisuper called hontou box! There's 5 flavours - red bean, green tea, custard, chocolate and cheese. I've tried all except the chocolate and cheese which I will check out one day. My favourite is the green tea as I like the flavour and texture of the green tea custard inside. I also love the moist and doughy texture of the pancke mix. Sometimes they cook them a bit longer than usual and the outside gets a nice crispy texture. One will set you back $2 but you can get 3 for $5, 6 for $10, or 10 for $15. But I warn you they are pretty filling so sharing is recommended!

Pancake production line - headed for my tummy.
I'm keener than mustard when it comes to green tea custard!

The deli also does what I think are Taiwanese style bento lunch boxes and you can also buy side dishes and congee but most interestingly, Taiwanese pork sandwich - you know the kind where the bread is the steamed-asian-bread folded over some pork/pork belly... mmm might have to try it out!

What: hontou pancakes (flavours red bean, green tea, custard, chocolate, cheese)
Where: Lower ground floor, 580 George street, next to Citisuper
How much: 1 for $2, 3 for $5, 6 for $10, 10 for $15
